(Mississippi)
We are seeking Soliciting Bail Agents to work directly with jails and police departments to help secure the release of individuals accused of crimes.
This role is not for everyone. Bail bonding is highly competitive and demands drive, ambition, and the ability to think critically under pressure. If you’re motivated, resourceful, and want a career where your work directly impacts people’s lives, this may be the path for you.
Licensing Requirements
To qualify as a bail agent in Mississippi:
- You must complete the 40-hour pre-licensing education course from a Mississippi Department of Insurance (DOI) approved provider.
- We may provide the required class for qualifying agents.

Skills & Responsibilities
A successful bail agent must either already be proficient in, or willing to quickly learn:
- Using computer and internet-based programs.
- Maintaining clear, legible handwriting and strong communication skills.
- Working independently with minimal supervision.
- Speaking directly with incarcerated individuals seeking release.
- Assessing whether a person is a flight risk or a danger to others (we do not bond everyone who calls).
- Contacting family and friends of defendants to arrange financial and logistical support.
- Tracking bonded clients until their court obligations are complete.
- Notifying clients of court dates and schedule changes.
- Appearing in court with or on behalf of clients.
- Locating and apprehending fugitives when necessary (bounty hunting).
Compensation
- Agents are self-employed and work strictly on a commission basis.
- The percentage earned is tied to the bond written and increases based on your knowledge, risk assessment skills, and overall performance.
- Pay grows quickly for those who learn the trade and show sound judgment.
- A typical agent AVERAGES $600 - $1,000 Per week
- A Good agent AVERAGES $1,500+ Per Week
Basic Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must be drug-free.
- Must own a cell phone and a constant internet access.
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

In order to obtain a Missisippi Bail Agents license, applicant must complete a 40-hour pre-license education course.
This course can be provided by any approved educator by the Mississippi Department of Insurance.
